The 'Sino Art in Community' project in collaboration with Chi Hong Primary School includes beautification of school campus and art workshop for over 720 teachers and students. We partnered with illustrator Jane Lee ( a.k.a. Messy Desk) to create outdoor murals around the campus; and Jay Lee, an installation artist, to host the 'Mosaic Fish Workshop' to create art installation for the campus symbolising team spirit and vitality.
‘Sino Group Arts Celebration Series' presents three world-class performances, including a jazz concert by Denis Matsuev with his band, a jazz concert Nice‘N’Easy by three-time Grammy and six-time ECHO award winner Thomas Quasthoff, and a concert by Quartetto di Cremona. In addition, Ng Teng Fong Charitable Foundation has sponsored a ballet of The Nutcracker staged by The Hamburg Ballet - John Neumeier.
From September to December this year, Sino Art organised five workshops for all the students from Sisters of the Good Shepherd Marycove Center. 23 sessions covered five themes, namely Wooden Furniture for Public Space, Upcycling Musical Instrument, Neighbourhood Explorer, Taste in the Neighbourhood and KOL. The students learnt about design, creative thinking, upcycling, sales and marketing, as well as artistic creation. Under the guidance of host artists and through interviewing the neighbours, observation and learn about the community from different perspective. They also sourced materials for the design of furniture and instruments to demonstrate the connection between people and the community.
We cordially invite you to visit the exhibition showcasing their art pieces created at the workshop in Olympian City on 2-3 December. Thirteen students will also play tunes with their handmade musical instruments at the Olympian City Christmas Market.
